CROWN LEGEND (3) returned from a spell last start over 1200m at Gilgandra and caught the eye late, getting up for second and making up around five lengths from the time they straightened. Has a terrible draw to contend with so probably goes back again but over the extra 100m can finish right over the top. TRIPLE TRIPLE (5) led all the way to salute over this distance at Taree two back. Took on a tougher race over 1200m at Gosford last time and found that beyond him. Better placed back up to 1300m in the country so watch for a return to form. QUICK SHARP (4) started favourite and got the job done by the barest margin at her latest run over 1100m at Armidale. Consistent mare who is on trial at this trip. Each-way the best option. The lightly raced AFRICAN DIAMOND (8) has been freshened up since just missing over 1450m at Muswellbrook on 28 November. Goes well when fresh so she is right in contention. PICKAXE (2) is one for the exotics first-up from a four-month break.
