Verdict

Leaning to PARTY CRASHER (9). He was only second up going 1400m to 2000m at Flemington but still proved too good over Cup week, winning by a head. He was one of the favourites for the G1 Qld Derby as a 3yo but was a late scratching and we haven't gotten to the bottom of him yet. He should be fitter now and can go on with it. SUNTORA (16) appreciated the rise to 1800m and won dominantly back in grade at Caulfield Heath last time, scoring by 4.5 lengths. She drops in weight off that and should go well again. LIBERAMI (1) is racing well, good to the line over 1800m at Flemington last time out in a slowly run race. 2000m is no issue for him and he'll be hard to hold out. NAVY KING (8) is fresh for this having just been edged out in the Kyneton Cup last time. He can roll forward and prove tough to pass. HOWLIN' RAIN (2) won the Moe Cup comfortably last time and has claims.
