Verdict

Competitive Ballarat Cup and inclined to stick with last-start winner KINGSWOOD (2), largely due to the set up. He was a tough Listed winner at Flemington last time out when third up and should only be better suited at 2000m here fourth up. He should land in a good spot close to the speed and from there he can get the job done. AIR ASSAULT (3) is an interesting one. He was dominant in fast time two back in Adelaide before things were against in the Cranbourne Cup. He jumped slowly and settled in a tricky spot, albeit the pace up front ended up being very strong so it may have been a blessing in disguise. 2000m is some query for him but if he jumps cleanly from barrier one he'll go close. SAINT GEORGE (6) just missed Kingswood at Flemington and meets him 1.5kg better off. He peaks to 2000m, just don't like the draw and where he'll get to. CASINO SEVENTEEN (1) beat POISON CHALICE (7) last week in the G3 Eclipse, the latter was favourite and perhaps unsuited but both are in the mix.
