This race all revolves around the resuming NADAL (1). He's off a nine-month, injury enforced spell which is the obvious query, and just one 800m jump out (which he won) doesn't exactly suggest he'll be wound up. That said, his progression last time in was outstanding, highlighted by a dominant win over Rey Magnerio and Baraqiel in The Meteorite at Cranbourne. The late betting will be key to his chances. OAK HILL (4) was ridden for luck and didn't get it in the G1 Moir Stakes last start. His form prior is good, but getting away from his usual 1000m and Moonee Valley is of some concern. RED HOT NICC (7) also comes away from The Valley, a drifter in betting and outclassed behind Angel Capital after going too fast in front last time. He can be in this for longer. TIGER SHARK (6) jumps off the page having finished 1.5 lengths off Headwall & Lady Shenandoah last time, but he was behind Oak Hill prior. COASTWATCH (2) may need further but could sprint well off a good trial win.
