The G1 Caulfield Cup and we're siding with the raider MEYDAAN (4), a lightly raced 5yo for the Crisford yard who trained West Wind Blows to run 2nd, also bringing Without A Fight here. He's been slowly improving his form and put in a career best last time at Kempton, only beaten by a pair of G1 winning stayers who came out and ran 4th and 7th in the Arc which is the world's best staying race. Sets up beautifully from the draw and can win. HALF YOURS (15) is the obvious favourite and there's plenty to like. He was dominant two back here to win his way in and caught the eye with a big finish in the G1 Turnbull Stakes against the best horses in the country. Now drops 3.5kg, rises to 2400m, any luck and he'll go close. BIRDMAN (14) and VAUBAN (1) come through the G1 Metropolitan. Birdman got too far back, the win prior was strong. Vauban is a class horse on his day and had little luck there. Can win, weight and all. ADELAIDE RIVER (8) just missed Birdman two back, now peaks to 2400m.
