Verdict

Last year's winner MY MATE ALFIE was highly progressive last season and wasn't seen to best effect when caught wide in the Group 2 Greelands Stakes at this track last month. He may be able to reverse the form with Vespertilio and Big Gossey, who finished ahead of him that day and can both run well again. Songhai may prove best of the rest in a highly competitive renewal, having caught the eye when a clear runner-up in a 5f listed race last time.
