This could set up nicely for the strong-travelling NICKELFORCE who was a close third behind a subsequent winner at Stratford last time, having not enjoyed the smoothest trip. He remains one to be interested in from this mark and can notch his first success this season. Yccs Portocervo is 4 lb lower than when winning over C&D last June and arrives in form, as does Pull Again Green who races in the same grade as when winning at Worcester 24 days ago.

Has been travelling through his races in the manner of a horse who could be ahead of his mark. Didn't get the rub of the green when a close third in a 5-runner chase at Stratford in May (winner followed up subsequently). Remains one to be interested in from this sort of mark.

C&D winner (off 4 lb higher) last June when completing the final leg of a hat-trick (previous two wins in hunter chases). Went off the boil afterwards but has worked his way into form this season, running a creditable second in a Newton Abbot hunter chase in May. Merits plenty to respect.

Had been given a chance by the handicapper when bouncing back to form to end a long losing run in a well-run 8-runner handicap chase at Worcester last month, jumped well and produced to lead run in. Is able to race in the same grade off 3 lb higher and should go well again.

Winner of this race in 2024 when landing second leg of a double. Held his form fairly well over the winter but has unseated on both runs this season. 4 lb higher than when successful last year but cannot be dismissed with Sean Bowen back in the saddle.

Resumed winning ways at Windsor (28.7f) in January and has held his form well, making late gains to take second close home at Newton Abbot (25.8f) 39 days ago. In fine heart but may find this test on the sharp side.

Off the mark in Britain on second start for these connections when successful in 4-runner handicap chase at Wetherby (19.4f) in November. Out of sorts since and very easy to back when well beaten on most recent starts, typically not convincing with his jumping. Others preferred.

Useful hurdler/chaser for Henry de Bromhead earlier in his career. Changed hands for £34,000 and off for 2 years prior to finishing last of 3 in a Worcester handicap hurdle (23f) on stable debut last month. Should strip fitter back over fences but remains to be seen how much ability he retains.

    Verdict
One-time useful chaser for Willie Mullins but hasn't shown anything like that form since early 2024. Has made a dismal start for new connections, again tailing off a long way out (in a first time tongue tie) over this C&D 16 days ago. Difficult to recommend on what he's shown of late.

Enhanced fine Kelso record when jumping well under a front-running ride to land a 7-runner handicap (23.4f) in April. Typically not as effective over hurdles there next time but straight back to form over fences when third at Perth, pulling clear of rest (fourth won next time out). Solid claims.
