FANGIRL (11) isn't quite the same horse in Melbourne so her modest first-up fourth in the Memsie is worth overlooking. Second-up last prep ran the champ Via Sistina to a long neck in the Group 1 Verry Elleegant over this course and distance. Seven-year-old now but she still has what it takes to win a race of this quality. LINDERMANN (6) relished being allowed to bowl along in front in the Chelmsford here a fortnight ago and just held off a potential star in Sir Delius. Can run a cheeky race again if Nash is able to dictate. CEOLWULF (1) was enormous first-up in the worst part of the track in the Winx. Maybe that gassed him as the follow-up effort in Lindermann's Chelmsford was plain. Too good to put the pen through. PRIVATE EYE (3) was bothered in front and couldn't hold off Pericles in the Tramway. Suspect he is a length or two off the best here - one for the exotics. GRINGOTTS (5) defeated Fangirl in the George Ryder at this stage last prep. He is open to plenty of improvement.
