PLATINUM PANTHEON (9) demolished a maiden field as expected fresh up at Ashburton nearly 3 weeks ago, and will have his eye on some richer age-grade races in the near future. This is another test for him, but he should go close to repeating the dose. PURE ARTIST (3) made progress on the poly track here last prep, and should have no trouble with the turf now that he has experience on his side. If he can find cover from a wide gate, then he is capable of a top 3 finish. THE RED RHINO (8) won fresh up at Timaru off a long spell, and then ran fourth here by a length 2 weeks ago. He still has plenty to offer as a lightly tried 8-year-old, and if he stays sound, he will win more races this year. EASTANDWEST (1) ran a much better race for second here 8 weeks ago, and the recent freshen up will do him no harm. Each way claims from a handy gate. GIANNIS (4) may not win often, but is in a good space at the moment, and he is worth including in all combinations.
