CAPTAIN HILFIGER (2) found the line with vigour two back at Bendigo to finish a barnstorming second. Couldn't quite follow that up last start but should be peaking now as he steps out to a trip that should be ideal and he shapes as a major player. ANTHURIUM (5) failed to feature at Bairnsdale when getting too far back but is capable of much better. The quick back-up and soft draw should see him settle closer and give this a real shake. BLACKLIST (1) is flying and chases a third straight win. Carries a big weight but is a proven performer at the trip and is too consistent to dismiss. SHOCKSTAR (3) had excuses last start but his previous run when beaten narrowly puts him right in the frame. EYE OF EPAULETTE (6) steps up in grade but comes off a confidence-boosting win and cannot be overlooked.

VerdictChasing a hat-trick. At the latest run tracked the speed and boxed on steadily; won by 0.5 len at Sandown-Hillside Bm66 September 3 over 2400m defeating Highland Glory carrying 59kg at $3.10. The start before that won by 1.0 len at Bairnsdale Bm58 August 12 over 2200m in soft going defeating More Torque with 61kg at $3.10. Is red-hot form and finds another ideal assignment.
