ZILZIE LAD (7) was below his best last time when seventh after being prominent at the turn over 2447m at Moe, beaten 15 lengths. That was in BM62 grade though, so beautifully placed here and is sure to play a major role. BOOKMAN (1) has been knocking on the door all campaign and most of those runs have been in races with more depth than this so it's hard to imagine he's not fighting out the finish once again. Similarly, BOW RIBBON (4) has placed at his past three, so he only needs to hold the form of his recent runs. The trick for him could be the wide alley. TACTFULL (3) drifted well back and failed to finish it off last start when seventh, beaten 7 lengths, over 1600m at Kilmore but looks better-placed here SECOND NATURE (8) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start when he was never in contention over 2100m at Echuca, beaten 3.5 lengths into seventh.
