Verdict

STRUCK GOLD (4) has the clearest profile after two solid BM76 placings at this track and now gets back to 1100m, where his track-and-distance record is excellent. First-time blinkers and the apprentice claim add to a strong third-up setup. Ready to win and expected to go close. FIELD OF FLUTES (1) is the main danger on consistency, having run second at his past two starts including a narrow Open defeat and his record at this track and distance keeps him right in the contest. JUMPING POWER TWO (8) was only fair in BM66 company last time, but his previous win over Throw At Da Stumps was sound and the weight relief gives him a genuine chance to rebound. GENETIC FREAK (3) beat Field Of Flutes at generous odds in Open grade last start and is well drawn with a claim. Could go back-to-back.

    Verdict
Has returned in excellent order, placing twice in Benchmark 76 grade at this track over 1300m, most recently third to Rossanado when beaten just under three lengths. He is fitter third-up, eases back from Saturday company and gets to 1100m, where he has two wins and three placings from five starts at this venue. First-time blinkers strengthen the case.

Comes through two solid seconds at this track and looks well placed back from Saturday company after chasing Wild Beau in a Benchmark 76 last start, beaten just under five lengths. His previous Open second behind Genetic Freak was stronger, beaten half a length after sitting just off the lead. The Genetic Freak defeat is the query, but his overall setup is strong.

    Verdict
Returns from a lengthy spell after ending last preparation with two last-placed runs in small fields at this track. He was beaten four lengths in Open company at his final run before the break, with a late bump noted, after finishing behind Field Of Flutes in a Benchmark 76. Capable of big run fresh.

    Verdict
Lifted strongly to win in Open company at this track last start, beating Field Of Flutes by half a length at generous odds after moving into the race before the turn. That followed a fourth in a Benchmark 76 over 1300m when unwanted in betting. Has enough 1100m form to be a genuine threat again.

    Verdict
Returns from a two-month freshening after finishing fifth in a Benchmark 66 at this track, beaten five lengths after failing to finish the job from a handy spot. His win the start prior was much better, scoring by two and a half lengths from Throw At Da Stumps in the same grade. Can rebound into the placings if that form returns.

    Verdict
Battled on for fourth in a Benchmark 76 at this track last start after jumping awkwardly, beaten just under six lengths by Wild Beau. She had been third in the same grade before that but was safely held after having the run of the race. Not to be discounted.

    Verdict
Returns from a four-month break after a heavy defeat at the end of last preparation, finishing last in a Benchmark 66 at this track and beaten over 13 lengths at long odds. Her previous fourth behind King Akeed had more merit after she was slow away and wide from the 600m. Has placed at this track and trip, but others bring stronger recent form.

    Verdict
Placed again in a small Benchmark 76 at this track last start, but he was beaten five and a half lengths by Wild Beau after travelling well and tiring late. He had been second in the same grade the run prior, yet also finished behind Field Of Flutes a couple of weeks ago. Has rough place claims.

    Verdict
Returns from a five-week freshening after two plain runs this campaign, both from the rear after slow beginnings. He was seventh in a Benchmark 76 at this track last start, beaten just over six lengths at big odds, and had been last in Open company before that. Fitter and not without claims.
