Verdict

JUST PRECIOUS (15) made the perfect return at Doomben when arriving just in time to get the bob, with the second horse subsequently winning. Is sure to have come on from that and should prove tough to stave off again under the featherweight. GRAM (5) is absolutely airborne and continues to be expertly placed by the Gollan camp. Sets up another treat for him and there's no reason he can't win again. Stablemate TEN DEEP (8) brings fresh blood and arrives off two stylish trial wins. SER JOH (7) folded up last time here when well supported but his prior form is up to the mark. A month in between could get him back on track.

Has built an excellent winning sequence and was dominant as favourite in a CG Benchmark 78 at Doomben, beating Mean Approach by two and a half lengths after settling handy despite an awkward start. He had won at this track over 1000m the run prior and is unbeaten in three starts this season. Is absolutely airborne and finds another suitable contest.

Returns from a lengthy spell with two trial wins behind her, including one at Doomben two weeks ago. She was last seen running seventh in the Listed Silk Stocking at Gold Coast, beaten just over three lengths after being overrun late, and had won a 3yo+ Class 6 at this track the start prior. Listed run was sound last campaign and her distance record is a major plus.

Resumed with a determined FM Benchmark 78 win at Doomben, settling just off the lead and beating Spiethtacular by a neck despite some minor movement noted by stewards. That was a clear step forward from her final run last campaign at Gold Coast, and she should take benefit second-up. Proven at this track and distance and gets a good chance to make it two on the bounce

Finished powerfully from well back to win a 3yo+ Class 3 over 1000m at this track last start, scoring by a length and a half as an odds-on favourite. The run prior was also at this venue, when fourth and beaten just over a length after racing wide throughout. The 1200m record is the obvious test.

    Verdict
Comes off a narrow Benchmark 80 win at Toowoomba, where he travelled well, raced wide throughout and still beat Tonneofgrit by a nose. This is harder after provincial grade, and he was beaten two and a half lengths by Gram at Doomben two runs back. Meets a harder race and has a Gram formline to turn around, but the 1200m record keeps him in the mix.

Returns to 1200m after leading and finishing fourth in an Open at this track over 1400m, beaten just over three lengths. Two back he was narrowly beaten at Doomben as favourite and had to wait for clear running near the turn and again approaching the 200m. Had excuses two back and blinkers go on, so he can bounce back.

Sprang a 41-1 surprise in a 1MW-LY at this track last start, letting down well to beat King Kapa by a head on soft ground. That was a sharp turnaround after a rearward tenth in an Open at Doomben, where he gave away a big start and only held his ground. The wide draw and tougher set-up temper the confidence.

Worked home evenly first-up when fifth in an Open at Doomben, beaten three lengths after beginning slowly and settling well back. She had earlier been favourite in an Open at Randwick on soft ground and was again only just under three lengths away. First look at this venue is the main query.

Resumed with a last in a small field at Gold Coast, beaten just under four lengths after settling handy but lacking the dash to challenge. This is harder after provincial grade, and his prior second-last at Gold Coast was also safely held despite some hampering. Others bring stronger recent form.

Second-up after finishing seventh in an Open at Doomben, beaten just under four lengths at big odds without offering a clear excuse. His previous run was a plain ninth in a Quality at Toowoomba, where he was unwanted in the market. Has to find more.

Finished last first-up at Gold Coast in an NMW, beaten over 12 lengths after settling back and making no impression at 101-1. Her previous run, albeit long ago at Port Macquarie, was also unplaced in a Quality when unwanted in betting. Proven at 1200m, but current form is well short.

Had excuses when fifth at Gold Coast last start, beaten just over two lengths after racing wide in a small field. That followed a Class 5 win at Ipswich, where she was favourite, was held up on the home turn and still beat Mishani Crown. Track-and-distance record keeps her in play.

Raced wide throughout when fifth in a Class 6 at this track over 1000m, beaten three and a half lengths at generous odds. Her prior sixth at Doomben was similar in margin and came from the rear, so she is still searching for a stronger finishing edge this campaign. Overlooking.

    Verdict
Was never a factor when last in an Open at this track, beaten ten lengths after beginning awkwardly and racing keenly early. He had been runner-up in a small-field Open at Gold Coast over 1000m when well supported, but that form was not backed up. Class drop helps, but recent form is not strong enough.
