Verdict

PACIERA (9) is the top pick after a decisive BM58 win at the Sunshine Coast, where she overcame early trouble and was still too strong for them late. Third-up now with a strong record over the track and trip, she can win again. WANTED HILLBILLY (2) pulled up with excuses when slow to recover last start. His prior BM62 win at this distance here impressed though and he benefits from a class drop and an apprentice claim. Big threat. MISS DE MEDICI (3) disappointed last time as favourite at Warwick when coming off a run in town, but her win here three back reads favourably. Unbeaten on track and stretches back out to a favoured trip. Can give this a big shake with a return to form. I STOLE IT (6) kicked off the prep with a strong win at Ipswich but is yet to go on with it. Was better last time in a hot race at the Gold Coast. Keeping safe. MISTER SELFIE (12) is mixing his form but has peaks that can threaten. Inside draw helps, expect him to settle closer.

    Verdict
Resumed with a sound fourth at this track, settling rearward and holding his ground when beaten two and a half lengths by Upstart Lover on good ground. His previous run was a fifth in a BM60 at this venue as favourite, where he was close enough but did not quicken. He has track form in his favour, but 1300m remains a testing point on his record and others bring sharper winning claims. Looking to others this time but he remains a place chance.

Finished fifth in a BM68 at Warwick as favourite, beaten two and a half lengths by Wolfgang after sitting handy and making ground without threatening; a bump near the 200m adds some context. She had earlier contested a BM72 at Doomben and was not disgraced despite being unwanted in the market. Strong track and 1300m records make her a major player.

    Verdict
Returns from a two-month freshening after finishing fifth in a Class 2 at this track, beaten four and a half lengths by Abraham as favourite after racing wide early and keenly in the middle stages. His previous seventh in a BM68 at Doomben came on soft ground after a slow start. Wide run last start can be treated kindly.

    Verdict
Comes back from a BM68 at Sunshine Coast where he led and faded to finish last, beaten just under seven lengths by Artistic Endeavour. That is the clear blemish, but his previous BM62 win at this track was much better, tracking the speed and beating Butt Heads by just over half a length. Class drop and claim give him a strong platform.

    Verdict
Finished strongly for second at this track in a CG Class 1 last start, beaten a long neck by In Three Dee after beginning slowly and being at generous odds. That was a marked lift on his Warwick run, where he was second last in a Class 2 and beaten six lengths by Artie Vainqueur. He has won at this venue, but his overall profile still demands another step forward. Preferring others.

    Verdict
Ran second at Kilcoy last start, beaten a length and a half by Heroic Chief after settling well back in a race where he was near the top of an open market. That was a clear lift on his Warwick tenth in a CG BM58, when he made no impression from the rear. He is well seasoned at 1300m and drawn softly. Holds claims.

Was seventh in an Open at Eidsvold last start, beaten just over five lengths by Koruto after being bumped early and racing wide throughout. Two back he was ninth in a BM70 at Sunshine Coast, slow away and held up at the home turn before making some late ground. Easier grade helps, but he must find a stronger finish.

Scored with authority in a BM58 at Sunshine Coast last start, overcoming early hampering and a delayed run before lengthening clear to beat Clubhouse by just over a length. Her first-up fifth in a FM Class 1 behind Snitzstream had merit after she jumped awkwardly and closed off from the back. Third-up and proven at this track, she is the one to beat.

    Verdict
Was well-supported favourite at this track last start in a CG Class 1 and finished fourth, beaten four and a half lengths by In Three Dee after racing keenly and being held up near the 300m. His prior third at Sunshine Coast was a much better guide, beaten a nose by Mishani Prince after also striking a hold-up. Weight relief keeps him in the place picture.

    Verdict
Finished eighth in a BM58 at Sunshine Coast last start, beaten four and a half lengths by Paciera after tracking the lead and being hampered near the 250m. He was also safely held in a CG Class 1 two back, fifth behind Mishani Prince after beginning awkwardly and being held up. Weight relief and a track-and-trip record help, but his recent finishing effort has to improve. Not this time.
