MR MELLON (8) is the one to beat after a sharp start to his career, winning a Mdn on debut from Call Me Invincible before going to Open grade and finishing fourth to Roger, beaten just over a length. He raced keenly there yet still held his form, and the return to Class 3 company reads well. CHINO BAY (5) resumes from stakes assignments, having contested the Listed Natasha Stakes and G3 WA Oaks last campaign, and her latest second at Lark Hill suggests she has had a suitable grounding. Can resume with a positive performance. SWIFT TALKER (1) was below his best in Open grade last start, but his prior second to Bosun in NMW1Y company is strong enough for this, with the 3kg claim helping. Watch for him late in the race. JAVELIN STRIKE (2) comes off a decisive CL1 win at Northam as favourite, beating Quick Cookie by two and a half lengths. Impressive there and that effort suggests he's up to this effort. LEETRON (6) won't be far away.
