Verdict

ROCK FEST (4) is an exciting gelding on resumption, placing in the Fairetha and WA Guineas before the break. Been off the scene since, but he did trial in February. Nice trial coming in this time and with stacks of upside, he can land the knockout blow on resumption. OURGIRLCANRUN (10) is a handy type who has speed to burn, going back-to-back before the break. She's trialled well coming in and she's another with plenty of upside. Drawn out, but she can work across from out wide and make every post a winner. NICCIANA (9) trialled well coming into this and is a first-up winner in the passt. May need a touch of luck froim the barrier, but he's a classy type who can't be discounted. HURRICANE HARLEY (2) was too good a month ago and can't be left out with this shaping similarly. POND MASTER (3) is better than he showed last start and can improve with the blinkers going back on.

Returns from a five-month break off consecutive wins, most recently beating Vatican Storm by a length in Open grade at Belmont as favourite. She had earlier won at this venue in 1 Metro Win company, again as favourite, and has since won an easy Lark Hill trial. Speedy customer who can make every post a winner despite the wide alley.

Returns from a lengthy spell with high-grade form in the book, including a third in the G2 WA Guineas at this venue when beaten just over two lengths by King Of Light. He had also run third in the Listed Fairetha Stakes, and his latest trial was a close second at Belmont Park. Trials coming in have been good around shome handy types and he can return with a bang.

Returns from a five-week freshening in excellent order, having swept home from well back to beat Champagne Crusader by a head at Belmont Park. That followed a long-neck third as favourite behind Six Shooter, so the recent form is reliable. Freshened since his last start win and there's no reason why he can't go on with the job.

Finished second first-up at Kalgoorlie as favourite, beaten two and a half lengths by Last Stylebender after settling close enough. This is harder company than that provincial assignment, and his Belmont run before the break was only fair despite some late interference. Track-and-trip record helps, though others bring better recent figures.

    Verdict
Placed first-up at Belmont Park when second to Like Clockwork, beaten two and a half lengths after leading and being collared late. His previous run at this track in a BM66+ was sound enough after interference near the 900m, and he does have a solid 1200m record. Wide draw and top weight make the win task harder, but he can hold a minor spot.

Returns from a five-month break with strong track credentials, having won twice from three starts at this venue and built a good overall record. He ended last campaign with a disappointing BM72+ tenth as favourite at Belmont Park, but his half-length second at generous odds the run before showed his better level. Fitter for a recent trial and with his upside, he can return on a winning note.

Went within a nose of winning a BM72+ at Belmont Park last start, travelling well and lifting strongly behind Six Shooter on soft ground. His first-up fourth behind the same winner was also sound, beaten two and a half lengths after working home from back in the field. Brings enough recent substance to run well again.

    Verdict
Returns from a five-week freshening after a plain Belmont Park run, finishing second last behind Hurricane Harley and beaten just over eight lengths with no real excuse. His previous BM72+ third over 1000m was much better, beaten a nose after leading clearly before late. The narrow BM72+ third prior gives him place claims, but trust is the concern.

    Verdict
Returns from a five-month break after ending his last campaign with a seventh at Belmont, beaten just over four lengths after working home fairly without threatening. He had been a close third at Belmont before that and has won a comfortable Lark Hill trial, so there is some readiness. Previous Belmont form was mixed, so a big race-day lift is required.

Returns from a three-month break after ending last campaign with a well-beaten 12th in Open grade at Belmont Park, though she began slowly and raced wide throughout. Her previous Open win over Godspeed on soft ground showed genuine ability, and she has an excellent 1200m record. Prior Open win and strong 1200m record are positives, but she has to rebound.

Worked home for fourth first-up at Kalgoorlie, beaten just under five lengths after being bumped at the start and settling well back. This is harder company than that provincial run, and her previous fourth in Class 5 at Pinjarra Scarpside came as a well-supported favourite. Has placed at 1200m without winning there.

Comes back quickly after finishing last in a BM78+ at this track, where he was close enough but found little after racing keenly early. His third in a BM72+ at Belmont Park the run prior was much better, beaten a neck by Six Shooter. Is better than he showed last campaign and can bounce back.

Was beaten just over a length when fifth in 1 Metro Win grade at Belmont Park, but she sat close and did not quite go on with it. Her second at big odds the run prior was honest, and the class drop with weight relief gives her some help. A minor placing looks the more realistic aim.

Was unwanted in the market first-up at Belmont and finished second last, beaten just under eight lengths after settling well back and covering ground. He had placed in Class 5 company at this venue over 1000m before the break, but that form looks only a minor reference for this. Prior Class 5 placing is not enough to push him high up the list.
