WINSILENCE (6) led for the judge and gave a kick but was swamped late and just missed the placings last start over 1200m on the Ballarat synthetic. Best figure of three runs this prep was achieved over 1000m so coming back to this trip should be seen in a positive light. Great chance to break through in a modest maiden. WILD ROMEO (5) showed a ton of pace but tired in the closing stages first-up over 1080m on the Canberra Acton track. Kept fresh since that return 38 days ago. Should be very effective coming back to today's journey. CARLOW ROSE (8) tracked the speed then battled on fairly for third recently over this distance at Albury. The wide gate is a concern but there should be improvement in store at the third run back. BACKFLIPS (11) has been safely held at both runs this prep but a better run could be on the cards courtesy of a kinder barrier draw. MOJO JUNIOR (10) can improve on a moderate maiden performance on the Ballarat synthetic surface.
