Verdict

Loads of chances in a very tricky race. OCTOBER STAR (9) found the line nicely to get up for third two back over 1200m at Wyong then wasn't comfortable on a heavy track last start in a run worth overlooking. Looks ready for a first crack at 1400m. UP THE FRONT (7) wasn't the best away but rallied strongly to finish a close fourth last time out over 1300m at Newcastle. Rock hard fit and another 100m today makes him very hard to stop. ALL MACHIAVELLIAN (10) was very good two back in a BM68 over the mile then stoked up late but was never a threat here at this trip most recently. Veteran who doesn't win out of turn but if he runs to his best he can take care of this field. EVERIDO (2) settled midfield and failed to improve first-up over 1100m at Warwick Farm. Can improve sharply in this far more suitable contest. ONEFORIAN (3) ran a nice race first-up in open company at Canberra. Has won two from five at 1400m so this looks well within reach.
