Verdict

APOSTLE (1) is ready to put it all together fourth-up after two narrow defeats. Has proven versatile with his speed, so can do as he pleases in this small field. McMurray's claim adds to his case. WIN STAR (6) finished a tick under 2L off Apostle at the latest but only meets him a touch better at the weights with Thompson replacing the claimer. Suspect those two will be fighting it out. PEARL PENDANT (7) brings different form but winning form nevertheless, and gets in light with the rise in grade. Knockout chance. MAY THE FORCE (4) also gets in light with the rise in grade and is drawn to get the suck run. No reason she can't fill the drum if things go her way. SPIRIT OF TORQUE (8) is still a maiden but should be at her top now and looks best of the rest.

    Verdict
Fought hard after pressing forward from a wide draw at Eagle Farm last start, beaten a nose by Murkado as favourite on soft ground. That followed another close second at Toowoomba when pipped late by Ashkirk, so the recent form reads strongly. He does carry the top weight, but the 1.5kg claim helps and his wet-track record is a solid asset. Claim helps with 60kg and his wet-track record gives him the clearest winning profile.

    Verdict
Kept finding the line when third behind Murkado at Eagle Farm last start, beaten just under two lengths in the same race Apostle comes through. She had been heavily backed into very short odds-on territory before winning a Mdn there the start prior, beating Great Times Ahead by a head. Must turn the tables on Apostle, but she is a live chance.

    Verdict
Put together consecutive wins on soft ground, most recently taking a BM58 at Taree by a neck from Explosive Tycoon after travelling just off the lead and lifting late. She had broken through in a Mdn at Coffs Harbour before that despite some early contact. New to 1600m, but current form keeps her right in the race.

    Verdict
Comes off a narrow BM58 second at Tamworth, beaten a head by Need A Miracle after travelling well and picking up strongly from back in the field. That followed a soft-track Mdn win at Bathurst over 1400m, where she beat Miss Maverick by just over a length as favourite. Harder assignment, but she has solid place appeal.

    Verdict
Battled on for fourth in a Mdn at this track last start, beaten just under four lengths by Great Times Ahead after racing wide and being well enough found in the market. She had earlier run second at Sunshine Coast, finishing strongly after again covering ground. Light weight helps, but she is still chasing that first win.

    Verdict
Worked wide throughout at Gold Coast Poly last start in a Mdn and finished sixth, beaten just over six lengths by Dun Darte Cheap after finding little when the race was there to challenge. He was also safely held fourth at Gold Coast the run prior. Weight relief is a positive, but he remains unplaced from seven starts and has to lift sharply on turf. Happy to overlook.
