Verdict

PLAN OF ATTACK (5) was thrown in the deep end on debut in Listed company and while he didn't threaten the stable must obviously have a good opinion of him. Made a strong return here three weeks ago when missing by a head. Is sure to have come on from that and can get off the mark this time. NO NO NO NO NO (2) was no match for an impressive maiden winner when resuming but is sure to have come on from that and looks to have his share of ability. Will appreciate stretching out the extra 200m and looms the main danger. SUN IN JUNE (9) is another of the main threats in her stable debut for the Gollan camp. Had excuses on debut back in April and looks to have come back in good order, stripping fitter for a Doomben trial. Can make a bright return. LOGAN DOWNS (4) was beaten a length as a well-supported favourite at Kilcoy over this trip. Expect him to burn across from the draw and be the one they need to reel in.

Placed again when third at Eagle Farm last start, beaten just under seven lengths after racing wide throughout on soft ground. That was in mid-week company and he now finds an easier meeting, while his overall record of three placings from four starts gives him a reliable base. Top weight is the query, but he has the consistency to run into the money.

Missed by only a head at this track last start, travelling strongly just off the lead and being pipped on the post over this trip. His only other run was in the Listed Dalrello Stakes at Eagle Farm on heavy ground, a much tougher assignment where he was unwanted in the market. Holds the strongest recent form and gets his chance to win.

Returns from a lengthy spell for the Tony Gollan yard, with a Doomben trial last month giving her some readiness. Her Sandown-Lakeside debut can be treated with some leniency after she began slowly, was hampered shortly after the start and raced keenly. Drawn well and bred to improve, she looks a major threat fresh.

Returns from a one-month freshening after a solid second at Kilcoy, where he was beaten a length as the well-supported favourite despite knuckling on jumping and hanging out from the 400m. He has a placing at this distance and rates well off that first-up run. Some 1200m query, but recent form gives him a winning chance.

Was below her debut level when seventh at Lismore last start, beaten three and a half lengths after beginning awkwardly and failing to quicken in country grade. Her first run was much better, finishing second at Grafton at big odds after travelling well. Last start was flatter, so she looks more place than win.

Closed off better than the market expected when fourth at Sunshine Coast last start, beaten just over three lengths from a rearward position at long odds. The run prior was plain on soft ground, but she had been keen and wide. Still a place-leaning profile at 1200m.

Finished eighth at this track last start, beaten three lengths at long odds after beginning awkwardly and giving away a big start. She had been sixth at Doomben the run prior and now gets a 3kg apprentice claim, while her 1200m record includes two placings from four tries. Place hope, though Plan Of Attack beat her home recently.

    Verdict
Returns from a lengthy spell after finishing last at Newcastle in Open company on heavy ground, beaten over 11 lengths and unwanted in the market. His debut fourth at the Kenso was also a distant result in a small field, so the race form is still thin. Race form so far is well short, so major improvement is required.

Returns from a one-month freshening after a plain second-last at Doomben, beaten just over eight lengths at long odds with no clear excuse. She was also safely held at Gold Coast first-up, giving away a start and only fair through the line. Third-up fitness helps and she has some ratings support, but her winless, unplaced record remains a major restraint. Looking to others for the winner.

Returns from a lengthy spell after ending last campaign well held at Sunshine Coast over 1800m, when he faded late and was unwanted in betting. The start prior at Beaudesert was also poor, beaten over 11 lengths after racing wide throughout. A Beaudesert trial win is a useful sign, but his nine-start unplaced record makes this a tough task. Can't entertain.

Makes her debut after three trials, the latest a fourth at Gold Coast last month over 1000m. That gives her some grounding, but there is no race-day evidence yet and the stable debut figures supplied are modest. Wide draw and no race form make her hard to assess confidently.

Returns from a lengthy spell after tackling the G2 Spirit Of Boom (Champagne) Classic at Doomben, where he was last, beaten just over eight lengths after beginning awkwardly. His debut third at Grafton behind Vantorix was better, though he started big odds there too. Grafton debut third gives some hope, but the G2 run was plain.

Finished fourth on debut at Sunshine Coast over 1000m, beaten just over six lengths after sitting behind the leaders and failing to finish it off. The stewards noted he was slow to begin, but the run still left him with improvement to find. Has to find a sharper finish.

Returns from a six-week freshening after finishing last at Sunshine Coast, beaten over 14 lengths at big odds despite only minor interference being noted. His previous run was another distant last in Open company at Gold Coast, where he began slowly and made no impression. Others bring far stronger recent claims.
