Verdict
Five runners, all debutants with legitimate claims. Four of them met in a trial at Murray Bridge recently and finished within 0.3 lengths of each other. HOT ANGEL (4) and DARK ICE (3) dead-heated for first in that trial, and both look above average. Hot Angel is a Spirit Of Boom half-sister to three winners while Dark Ice has had two siblings to race and both were successful. MISS PARTON (5) is a Tagaloa filly who finished fifth in the trial but was right there with them. Not much success to date on the dam's side but this filly looks like she goes okay. HARD COPY (1) was third, beaten a head by the top pair. He is by All Too Hard and will no doubt get better over a bit more ground later on but can still play a role here. PATONG EXPRESS (2) is the one bringing a different angle to the race. Has done well in his two trials and must be respected.
