Verdict

OPAL HERITAGE (9) returns from a five-month spell. Raced twice in the maiden campaign and didn't set the world on fire in Victoria, albeit on wet tracks. Has trialled three times recently so should be forward enough. Worth another chance while fresh with blinkers on for the first time. CATHAY EXPRESS (10) settled back in field and was never in contention first-up over 1100m at Gawler last start. Opened the maiden prep with a couple of nice performances last summer - winning hope if she recaptures that form. BUFFO (2) usually leads but didn't last Saturday over 1200m and failed to feature. Gets to 1400m for the first time today which might be what he is looking for now. INTIMUS (12) led and gave a great sight but just failed to hold on last time out over 1350m at Strathalbyn. Very fit, draws a good gate, and keeps improving so ticks all round. BREWSTER BUCK (6) caught the eye late when resuming over 1100m at Gawler last time. A chance out to this trip.
